TOWN TREASURER =
The Town of Exeter seeks qualified resident and
registered voter to serve as Town Treasurer for the unexpired term to Novem=
ber
2010. This is a part time, el=
ected
position, in accordance with Section 603 of the Exeter Home Rule Charter. Duties include: serve as Town’s chief financ=
ial
officer; provide supervision and assistance to Deputy Treasurer on all
financial duties and bookkeeping activities; prepare monthly bank and
investment account reconciliations; authorize, approve and review town
expenditures; prepare monthly and annual financial statements; monitor and
maintain proper internal accounting controls, structure and procedures in
accordance with generally accepted accounting principles; assist Town Counc=
il
in preparation of annual budget; assist independent auditors on Town’s
annual financial audit; and responsibility for Town’s financial plann=
ing,
investment and debt service analysis.
Must have ability to:
Education requirements: BS with concentration in accountin=
g/finance,
CPA preferred. Experience: minimum of 5 years of experience a=
s a
Town Treasurer or similar position; comprehensive understanding of governme=
ntal
accounting.
Salary: $18,173, as set by Financial Town
Meeting.
