Split Rock Trail: Orange
The Split Rock Trail offers a walk through deciduous woodlands and over two small footbridges. You have a choice of either returning to the parking lot or exploring the blue trails.
Yawgoo Valley Ski Area and Water Park
Rhode Island's only ski slope is located on Yawgoo Valley Road. Yawgoo has been owned and operated by Max and Pati DeWardener since 1980. The ski area has six trails, two slopes, two double chair lifts, a tow rope and a snow tubing area. The slope has a complete snow making capability to insure good skiing conditions. Yawgoo offers excellent instruction for novice skiers and snowboarders and a full-service ski shop. Yawgoo has hosted such events as the Annual Winterfest, the firefighters' Race, and the Chili Challenge.
The Water Park offers two flumes totaling 700 feet, a splash pool and a kiddies pool. A new poolside Tiki Deck will be ready this season so patrons can get something to eat and drink. The Water Park is open from June to Labor Day. Catering facilities are available. Call 295-3802 for ski conditions, general information, or to book an event.
Exeter Country Club
The Exeter Country Club is a championship 18-hole golf course. It is open to the public. For more information call 295-1178.
Fisherville Brook Wildlife Refuge
The Fisherville Refuge is a 722 acre site with five miles of trails and is managed by the Audubon Society of Rhode Island. The trails are accessible from the parking lot off Pardon Joslin Road. Natural beauty abounds in this local treasure and the perfect place to observe a wide range of native flora and fauna. Free parking. Open daily dawn to dusk/ 949-5454
Tomaquag Indian Memorial Museum
Located at 386 Summit Road, Arcadia. Collection of Indian artifacts, including local tribes. Exit 5S, off I-95, Rte. 102 to Rte. 3, southwest to Rte. 165, to Arcadia State Park Rd. Indian Museum. Open: Year round, 539-7213.
